Pastor Maxwell’s ministry began with his initial sermon in January 1990 and was ordained in December 1991. He has served as Assistant Pastor at Second Ebenezer Baptist Church, Savannah, Georgia (1991-1995), Youth Pastor at Friendship Baptist Church College Park, GA (1995-1998), and Assistant Pastor at First Zion Baptist Church, Riceboro, GA (1998-2002). Co-Pastor Fort Stewart Gospel Service, Fort Stewart, GA 2002-2004, Pastor Baumholder Collective Gospel Service, Baumholder, Germany (2004-2007), Minister to clergy New Creation Christian Fellowship San Antonio, TX 2007-2008. He previously served as Sr. Pastor of the Gospel Service@ Fort Bliss.
Pastor Maxwell thanks God for the gift of song and worship; through this gift, he has crossed paths with many notable personalities in the Gospel music area, namely James Cleveland, Dorothy Norwood Milton Bigham, James Bignon, Cassetta George, Albertina Walker, Stephen Hurd, Gary Hines and The Sounds of Blackness, Bishop Kenneth H. Moales, and Elder Renetha Macklin. Pastor Maxwell’s music affiliations have included being a member of Gospel Music Worship of America (Atlanta and Savannah Chapters Associate Director), National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses (Hinesville Chapter Associate Director); Georgia Mass Choir (Associate Director), Savannah State Wesleyan Gospel Choir (member Student director and Director) G.A.N.G(God’s Anointed Now Generation, Chaplain, and Assistant Director).
Pastor Maxwell has married the former Nina Lorraine Fuller of Midway, GA, for over 32 years. They have three children: Lateshia Shanae, Lariel Shanese, and Artie III. They also have twin granddaughters, Annika and Alycia, one grandson, Aaric, and a baby granddaughter, Aubrielle.
Pastor Maxwell’s motto is “Lead by example; you never know who is following you.” This has kept him grounded and allowed him to succeed these past 32 years.
